Hello friends,
My name is Lasha Parghalava. I am an international basketball scout and trainer from the country of Georgia, now based in Brooklyn, NY.
Basketball has been the greatest blessing of my life. It gave me purpose, opened doors I never thought possible, and carried me across the world. It shaped me into the person I am today. Without this game, my path would have been very different.
That’s why I believe so deeply in its power — because basketball is more than a sport. It is discipline, it is family, it is hope.
Over the years, my work has brought me to Africa, where I’ve met some of the most passionate, talented, and hardworking people I have ever seen. Kids who show up every day with nothing but determination — often playing barefoot, on rough ground, with makeshift hoops — and still smiling because they love the game.
But I’ve also seen the heartbreak: children being taken advantage of by recruiters, agents, coaches and organizations who profit from their talent without giving back to their communities and youth coaches. I’ve seen young athletes with so much promise, but nowhere safe to practice, nowhere to dream.
That’s why this project means so much to me. Together with an incredible coach, Kenneth Mfon, in Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria, we are determined to build a real basketball court for the kids there — a safe place that belongs to them.
Coach Mfon already pours his heart into these children. He teaches them basketball, yes, but also the values that last a lifetime: teamwork, resilience, confidence, and belief in themselves. Right now, he does all of this on a dirt patch with broken hoops. Imagine what he could do if these kids had a proper court.
This is where I need your help.
Your support will help us:
Build a durable, fully equipped basketball court
Install safe flooring and proper hoops
Support Coach Mfon’s youth programs and mentorship
This court is not just concrete and baskets. It is a promise. It’s a place where kids can feel safe, where they can learn discipline and joy, and where their dreams can take root.
No donation is too small. Every single gift helps turn dust into a court, and hope into reality.
Please, if this touches your heart, donate and share this campaign. Together, we can give the children of Asaba not just a court, but a future filled with possibility.
With gratitude and hope,
Lasha Parghalava
