Build 4 classroom block, for Yes and Amen, Uganda

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Michael. My wife (Hannah) and I are fundraising on behalf of Yes and Amen Educational Centre in Uganda. We each sponsor a child at the school, to cover their school fees. The school is dear to our hearts. Last month I finally got to meet my sponsor child for the first time.

When I visited, I could see first hand the dedication and commitment of the teachers to provide quality education while also teaching faith based principles, and instilling Christ like values.

Yes and Amen Primary school doesn’t concentrate on only academics but also teaches kindness, respect, honor and appreciation for others especially those in authority or simply older. Furthermore, they teach life skills, which include but are not limited to hand crafts, tailoring, cooking and money management. They strongly believe that developing these skills among their children will enable them to become useful citizens.

This incredible school started as a nursery school, in 2007, but is now a pre- primary and primary school. Over the years, Yes and Amen, has expanded to include Primary seven- the last class in primary level. Their children range from 4 years to 15 years of age. The school is seated on 2 acres of land.

Unfortunately, the school cannot take in more children because they have insufficient numbers of classrooms.
The classrooms they do have are shared between different primary levels using temporary partitions. I am sure you can imagine the disruptions this causes to a child’s education, and the disturbance caused by noise between one class and the other.
They have a temporary structure in place, but whenever heavy rain and wind happens, this structure provides insufficient protection / shelter, and the class has to relocate to other classrooms.
Within one of their buildings, our wonderful teachers share one room for three purposes- staff office, staff break room and children’s library. This is far from ideal.

They have land that is currently not used but ready to be built on. Just £1000 would be sufficient for at least one additional classroom structure. Therefore, by simply reaching the target they can build a brand new 4 classroom block.

Please donate generously and let's build for the next generation's education in Uganda.
