Hi everyone, my name is Megan. I had quite the luck throughout my pregnancy. I was blessed with the news of my first baby in June of 2024, shortly after the chaos began, with severe anemia, to Covid, norovirus, a 50 pound bar slamming on my stomach, going through an external cephalic version, chronic hypertension, then a third degree tear and hemorrhaging losing 1/4 of my blood once she was born. With all of that I was on bed rest due to complications and risk of inducing way early which had me take my extended FAMLI leave before I had my daughter. They offer 4 weeks after your 12 week max which I had to use beforehand. This past week I found out I have ovarian vein thrombosis in my right ovary. Due to this vein leading directly to my heart, my anemia, and the blood thinning injection therapy I am on, I have been told I am not to work from 3-6 months minimum. This means I will no longer be employed (benefits aren’t offered) after this week, and I will also lose my insurance. I will be in close contact with my hematologist weekly which can rack up the medical bills without insurance, not to mention the small chunk of bills I pay. I hate asking, but I truly can’t think of many other options right now. I appreciate anything, even kind words or prayers.
mentally and physically I am exhausted, being postpartum and having a 2 month old. The news of all of this on top of being told I will most likely not be able to carry through another pregnancy breaks my heart for I have fallen in love with being a mommy.
thank you for reading
