Bud's Top Surgery Fund

Hey, I’m Bud (they/them), and I am a trans, non-binary indigenous person (Nez Perce) living in Austin, TX, and after a year and a half of planning, the stars have aligned, and I’m getting my top surgery on March 29!

I put in a lot of work (and manifestation) to secure this particular date because it allows me to work my physically demanding coffee catering job through the SXSW event season before taking off the necessary 6-weeks for recovery.

A $1200 deposit secured my date with my preferred surgeon in Plano, Texas, paid with money from a fundraiser last October.

The remaining costs include:

$4626 - surgeon and hospital fee

$1174- Pre and post-op care (hotels and gas, home recovery items, medications and supplies, etc.)

$2200 - Lost wages during recovery time

Simply put, top surgery is going to change my life. I am deeply and eternally grateful to my dear friends and wonderfully loving community around me that have helped make this lifelong dream a reality. It would not be possible with help from you all.

I can’t wait to find out together what a post-op Bud Hug is going to feel like!
