7k Budgie Smuggler Run 2023

Brian Turner is organizing this fundraiser to benefit Mental Health Foundation.

On the 29th of January 2023 we ran 7km around Virginia Water lake in nothing but our budgie smugglers to raise donations and awareness for the charity 'Mental Health Foundation'.

In 2021 we successfully raised 1.5k for Bullys out and in 2022 1.2k for Cancer Research UK.

Our target was £700 which is £100 for each Kilometre we ran. As you can see each year we have surpassed the target with the generosity of our followers, friends and family.

Fighting the cold weather we hoped to raise awareness and donations for a great charity. With your help we more than doubled our target this year and the fund raiser continues to grow!

A bit about the charity -

"The Mental Health Foundation is a UK charity, whose mission is "to help people to thrive through understanding, protecting, and sustaining their mental health.

They know that some communities are at higher risk of mental health problems due to the social, economic, and environmental circumstances they find themselves in. Much of their work challenges these mental health inequalities by helping those at the greatest risk.

Mental health foundation publish studies and reports on what protects mental health as well as the causes of poor mental health and how to tackle them.

They propose solutions and call on national and local governments to change and address the causes of poor mental health and enhance things known to protect it. As well as offering the public evidence-based, free information to help them look after their own and their loved one's mental health.

The Mental Health Foundation are the home of Mental Health Awareness Week."
