Buddy’s Road to Recovery
On January 6th 2021, my step dad Buddy Guy suffered a massive stroke, as well as two seizures. He was rushed to the hospital via ambulance, but was discharged Tuesday January 12th. He is gradually regaining his strength and mental capabilities, showing improvements with each day that passes. Bud is the most strong, stubborn, hardworking man I’ve ever known. If anyone can fight through this, it’s him. Buddy has a long road ahead of him I’m afraid.
Now that he is home he will have to undergo extensive physical, occupational and speech therapy to try to get back to a new normal. Unfortunately he does not have insurance, and as the bread winner of the home, it would seem there is no way to pay for the physical therapy he will so desperately need. In addition, my mom will be taking care of him full time until he is feeling better and capable of resuming life as normally as possible. In the mean time life will carry on as usual, bills to be paid, and food to be bought.
My mom and Buddy would NEVER ask for help from anyone and I’m sure he will roll his eyes at me for doing this, but two people that I love so much, that have given all they have to help me and to help others, need OUR help now. If you’ve met Buddy, you love him. It goes without question. He is one of the best people to walk this earth and he is a friend to everyone he meets. He is kind, and funny, the most hardworking and loves his family above all. He has loved me and my daughter with a love far greater than I could ever deserve or repay and now I hope to be able to do something to help him in some small way. Even if it’s all you can do, please lift him up in prayer, as we trust in a mighty king Jesus, to do as he promises, and heal our deeply loved Buddy and restore him to full health!
