Buddy's Life Saving Fund

Donation protected
We found Buddy on the side of the road in Grenada on our way to medical school. We drove by and noticed he was badly injured and could barely move. We stopped and tried to look for his owner, but no one would claim responsibility for him. Many of the locals urging us to "just take him, he is about to die anyway." So we did. We carefully loaded him into our car, noticing cuts on his legs, one so big that his bone was showing. We rushed him to the animal clinic's emergency center. After the vets examined him and took x-rays, they told us something that tore our hearts to pieces: He had been struck by a machete. The blow shattered his humerus bone at the joint, and the wound was severely infected. As if this wasn't bad enough, he was extremely malnourished and dehydrated. He had not been cared for at all in, what the vets estimate, his 3 years of life. He was immediately admitted to the hospital and was started on IV antibiotics to treat the infection. He is now stable and has to be hospitalized for at least 1 to 2 weeks to hopefully get rid of the infection before he can have surgery to try to save what is left of his arm. The reason we are making this Go Fund Me is because the only way the clinic would treat him is if someone took ownership and financial responsibility over Buddy. We did both without hesitation since without immediate medical attention he would have died. All of his medical costs so far have come out from our emergency fund, which we were glad to do, but there are plenty more payments to come and our fund is limited as we are students. There is orthopedic surgery and a lot of treatments ahead of us, so we are reaching out to our family, friends, and anyone willing to help Buddy in this time of need to help us by donating even the smallest amount. Any donation will go straight to Buddy's medical bills and surgery costs. We will do everything we can to help him get better, but we need all the help we can get. We are extremely grateful to anyone who donates, but understand that not everyone can.  Buddy has had no one to love and care for him in his life, but now he has us, ALL of us.
