Buddy Nuggs' cleft palate surgery
Donation protected
Hi there my name is Mel and I am the owner of the sweetest little mini dachshund named Buddy Nuggs.
This little cutie was born on the 19/09/21 and weighed 175g, within the first few days of life we noticed that he began to lose weight and dropped to a tiny 125g.
Vets were unable to diagnose this little guy and we began syringe feeding him milk formula from 2 days old. My fiancé and I hand fed Buddy every 1-2 hours for the first 6 and a half weeks. He has now transitioned to solid food and is quite the little character.
It was very touch and go and there were moments where we thought this little man wouldn't make it, but he is our little fighter.
At about 5 weeks of age vets diagnosed him with a cleft palate that he was likely born with but was too small to see early on. The cleft is quite large and is at the back roof of his mouth in the soft palate, this connects his mouth to his airways. The cleft palate affects Buddy when he eats and drinks and food often comes out his nose and he sneezes and coughs alot.
We have been quoted by the Animal Referal Hospital in Homebush to repair Buddys cleft. The bill will be approx $5000.
If you can spare any amount we would be forever greatful. Please share this fundraiser and help us get our little man the surgery he requires.
