Hi I'm Michelle, mum to beautiful Staffordshire Bull Terrier boy Buddy.

Buddy suffers from a rare genetic condition known as hyperuricemia, he can't process purines properly due to a mutated gene, this leads to him building bladder stones.

We have been on medication, allopurinol and prescribed Hill's U/D urinary care to prevent this from happening. Through many ups and downs thinking we have things under control but for the last nine months even with all the attempts to help he has still been struggling urinating every few weeks.

Earlier this year we discovered a lump on Buddy's stomach, testing came back as a lipoma so we decided to leave it for the moment, unfortunately it is looking like his lipoma could be causing his issues with urination as it sits close to his bladder, we have been advised to have it removed with a quote between $3,600-$5,500 depending how deep the lump goes and the surgery required to remove it.

We can't get insurance for Buddy because of his condition and with so many trips to the vet so regularly these past nine months the account balance is at an all time low, so we are here, again, begging for your help to try and make Buddy better again.

One thing you should know before you click donate is, there's a chance the lump isn't causing his issues with urination. Which means that if the issue persist after surgery Buddy may not have much longer before he crosses the rainbow bridge as it means his body is producing stones faster than medicine and diet can help and he is living in constant pain and that's not a good quality of life for him so we have been told to be prepared for all possible outcomes.
