Buddy Mercer Family Memorial - GoFundMe

I met Buddy at an event with Kenny Rice and Rick Dunham in about 2009.  The feature picture is from that first night we played together and we've been great friends ever since.  We recorded 3 full albums of original instrumental smooth-jazz, as well as him playing guitar on most of the tracks from my own album.  His recording ideas were simply amazing to me.

Buddy's life featured many challenges, like all of us, but he always managed a smile and an upbeat story of explanation.  I last spoke with him about a month ago and we talked about getting together for more recording.  It was a complete shock to hear of his passing as I, like many others, had no idea he was even sick. I suspect he just didn't want to burden others with his troubles.  That was how he was.  

Among his challenges were expenses including health and dental and such.  But even through all that, he stayed positive and was an encouragement to so many of us.  

So it is with that thought and the thought of those he loved so much and left behind, that a few of us decided to form this GoFundMe page.  I hope you will take a moment to remember and donate to the family of a guy who gave 100% to a lifetime of music - his passion.  I miss you my friend...
