Bellflower to Australia!!!

September 27, 2015 - October 11, 2015
The Bellflower Basketball Program is setting the bar high. We are planning a trip to Australia and we need your help. My #1 goal since taking the coaching job at Bellflower was to change the culture and show these inner city kids that there is life outside of their surroundings. The mission of the Bellflower Basketball Program is to give inner city kids a global platform, which enables them to dream big. Anyone who has traveled internationally knows the positive impact that comes from seeing the world in a different cultures perspective.

Through the Josh Childress Foundation, my family and I, have made a conscience effort of giving back to children of inner communities through education and athletics. Over a span of 5 years we have helped over 50 young men and women receive athletic and academic scholarships.
(#BucNation is a Family. We take pride in helping these young men reach their life goals.)
Remember, that we are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is not an act, but a habit. Therefore, it is through the transformation of the mind of our student-athletes that we hope to instill positive habits and core values that will create special young men who will become successful adults. It takes a special person to succeed in athletics and in life, but every successful person needs help in doing so.
(In 1 year Christopher Wheeler, won the Every-Student Succeeding Award. With many possible candidates, he was chosen for a award which recognizes students who completely turn their life around. He credits his Basketball Family for his transformation.)
With the help of “YOU” we have a unique opportunity to be the first ever U.S. Public High School Basketball Program to travel out of the country to participate in a basketball tournament. We will not settle for average, only aspiring to be exceptional. We have the opportunity to change the lives of these young men forever. Please help us in doing so.
In order to show them that there is life outside of their surroundings we will need to take them out of surroundings and show them a positive life different from their current circumstances. The kids in our program are encouraged through academic excellence and athletic participation to become responsible members of their community. We are very confident that we can develop the whole child, by striving for a culturally diverse student–athlete.
(Our Student-Athletes giving back to the community by participating in #ReadAcrossAmericaDay at the local elementary schools.)
We are asking for your generous donation. Your efforts will help with the cost of airfare, hotel accommodations, passports, food, travel accommodations, tournament fees, and most importantly a life changing experience. Your donation will bring us closer to our $35,000 goal and give these young men the once and a lifetime experience to travel the world. Our community is clearly excited and eager to see this project succeed. You can be a part of that excitement by supporting our youth with a monetary donation.

Thanks in advance for your support. The Bellflower Basketball Program appreciates your commitment in changing the lives of our young men.
