Becky "Bex" Mishler is a cornerstone of the Emporia community. She has spent more than 20 years as one of the best bartenders in town (now at Mulready's Pub). She also owned The Vault, the best charcuterie shop our town has ever known, and she is the nicest yet sassiest person you'll ever meet. She has brought nothing but radiance, fun, and deliciousness to Emporia.
In October, Bex was hit by a car and was seriously injured. Bex needs surgery and will have a long recovery. It is hard to see someone who gives so much to others go through this.
Bex has a long road ahead. Because she works in the service industry, she can't work while she recovers, and we don't yet know how long that will take. Between medical care, travel for treatment, and lost income, the costs are adding up quickly. We do not want the financial burden of her necessary medical care to become a barrier to receiving the treatment she needs to fully recover.
The flowers and cards she has received have lifted her spirits, so thank you to everyone who sent them. Going forward, her family and friends hope to raise enough money to help with all these expenses and supplement her lost income.
Additionally, a Meal Train has been set up to keep this lovely woman fed! Food is also a form of medicine, especially to Bex. If you would like to sign up to bring a meal to Bex and her partner Jennifer, or if you would like to make a donation for the purchase of food, please visit www.mealtrain.com/trains/z6r6d6
If you are unable to donate but would like to help in another way, please share this page with the people in your life and spread the support. This helps spread the word that we’re bringing our amazing community together to help one of the coolest and kindest ladies recover from something that we wish never happened.
