William Winants Buckingham, III, was simply one of a kind. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle, godfather, and friend. He was kind, generous, hardworking, loyal, intelligent, funny, fearless, creative, and incredibly humble. His zest for life and his laugh were contagious. He would elevate every joke, situation, or event to the next level. For Bill, it was always about the journey, with its many U-turns and pit-stops, more than it was about the destination. He loved life and he loved people…and he loved motorcycles. On August 27, 2016, Bill lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident. For those of us who were fortunate enough to have known and loved him, life will never be the same. The impact of his death is enormous. He left behind a devastated family and grieving friends all over the world. For the 3 beautiful girls who called him “Dad,” the loss is especially unspeakable. Bill adored his daughters. He nourished them with love, humor, and a sense of adventure, all of which helped create 3 courageous, gifted, loving young women. We would like to honor Bill’s memory by creating a fund to help support his girls in their education. Courtney, Bill’s eldest daughter, graduated from college in 2015 and is currently enrolled in graduate school, pursuing a degree in high school education. Sidney is currently a junior majoring in French at Temple University in Philadelphia. Hannah is a senior in high school, and with her many talents, will likely pursue a future in the arts. Bill wanted to give his children the education and experiences necessary to succeed in whatever passion they committed themselves to. Please consider contributing to his legacy—his dedication to his children—by donating to this fund, which will help ease the financial burden of the years of schooling in front of them. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Bill’s truest passion: his family.
