Buckeye Valley Youth Football
Donation protected
Buckeye Youth Football needs your help! For those of you that do not know us, we are a small close nit rural community in north central Ohio. Our program has been around for 15+ years teaching the youth of Buckeye Valley the sport of football, but more importantly, the values that this sport instills; determination, overcoming hardships, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Like many other programs around the nation, our youth football program is struggling to survive. Last season we had to cut our 2nd~4th grade teams and only support a 5th/6th grade team. It was a hard decision, but we knew it was the only way to survive another season. We joined a new league and our team was runners up in the Championship game! There was excitement in our community, and we had high hopes of reviving and expanding our program for this upcoming season.
We knew we had to purchase new helmets and shoulder pads as ours have expired. This equipment is not cheap and being a small program, we do not have the liquid assets to purchase this equipment and to keep the entry fees reasonable for all to experience the sport of football. We had plans for fund raising and spring/summer football camps. However, with the COVID pandemic, all those plans were lost.
Whether or not we will be able to have a season this year is unknown with guidelines for Fall youth sports yet to be determined, but regardless this season, or next equipment is needed to be able to offer football through our Delaware Optimist Buckeye Valley organization. Ideally, we would like to move forward this year in assumption we will be able to have football in some form this season. Quite frankly, to field one team of 20 we need $4,000 just to provide essential equipment.
The goal is to save Buckeye Valley Youth Football for years to come. Helmets and shoulder pads are kept by the league and will be able to be used for 10 years with regulated reconditioning before expiring to offer players safe equipment, so your donation supports the future of football for our league.
We thank you in advance for donations of any size and sharing our story. The amount we are able to receive will dictate how many teams we are able to support.
Please note all proceeds go to Delaware Optimist Club and will be saved till funds are reached for equipment.
