Bucket List Trip for My Baby

Family and strangers, old friends and new,

Allow me to relate our story to you...

As many of you are already aware, in March of last year (2021), my husband Piotr was diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer; it has metastasized to his liver, which is riddled with lesions. His only chance of being completely cured was through a living donor liver transplant.

We recently were told that he is no longer eligible for any kind of transplant. This is because the cancer has now spread to some of his lymph nodes, and to his lungs.

At this point, Piotr is still feeling fairly well, at least during the weeks he's not having chemotherapy. He is not giving up, despite the odds.

This brings me to the title of and the reason for our fundraiser.

I'll keep this brief (uncharacteristic for me, I know).

Piotr has always wanted to go to Alaska. It's been a dream of his for years and years, dating back to before we met and married (and we've been married for 19 years as of this past August 16, 2022).

I want to make his dream come true.

The thing is, I'll need a little assistance to make it happen. Given the nature of the disease, time is of the essence; we would like to go as soon as possible, which would be May of 2023. However, as you can imagine, we have bills to pay and our two incredible children, Rose and Nicholas, to care for and raise. Saving up our own funds is something we could do under "normal" circumstances...but not THESE circumstances.

So, if you're willing and able, please consider donating to our fundraiser. Rest assured that your contribution will only be used toward the trip itself--lodging, airfares for Piotr, our kids, and me, and tickets for the cruise ship.
