“Bucket” Ben E-F needs our help. He’s moved your lamps, changed your bulbs, plugged in your hair dryers and chargers, and pranked your sets for over a decade now. He’s a hard worker, a problem solver, a storyteller, a lover of light and image who has poured himself into every project he’s encountered. Now he’s facing his biggest challenge ever, a challenge far harder than the worst logistics any set can throw-

In March of 2026, Ben and I received the worst news anyone can get. Ben, my backbone for a decade, my rock, the love of my life, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

This diagnosis has been devastating. It’s not curable. It’s not operable. In a moment, everything changed. The focus is no longer on the next project or gig, but on doctor visits, treatment options, and taking things one day at a time. Trying to live in the moment. Trying to not flash back or flash forward, but rather just be.

Through it all, Ben remains the same nerdy, strong, and pragmatic person we all know and love. His presence has impacted so many people both on and off set. And I am by his side every step of the way, supporting him through this incredibly difficult journey.

As many in the film community know, work in this industry can be unpredictable. Stepping away is not always an option. Both Ben and myself have stepped away from projects we had lined up. Planning for the future is not on the table. As much as we love our work, right now, Ben and myself need the space to prioritize what matters most: his health and the fight ahead.

The reality is that cancer brings not only emotional weight, but financial strain as well. Medical treatments, time away from work, and everyday expenses can quickly become overwhelming. Couple this with being limited on the work we can take and having our income drop significantly, we are already feeling the financial strain.

This is where we can come together for Ben.
