Hey there! Zach Villa here, your fav LA, NYC, Mid-west transplant. Yeah, thats right. Not many people know it, but I hail from an Iowa town called Clinton, IA.
It's a good place to grow up, and I eventually took my home grown roots on to bigger centers of arts and culture, like NYC, and of course L.A. California. Where I am currently based. I'm many things over on this side of the country - Actor, Musician, Songwriter/Producer, Voice Over Artist, and yes I even still tap dance on occasion. OH... and I LOVE riding motorcycles.
Here's the deal. There is a place called Gateway Area Community Center back home in Clinton. We will call it G.A.C.C. They help organize programs and classes for local youth and the surrounding community. These programs are non-profit, and it helps kids and teens alike find ways to educate and express themselves that they probably wouldn't be able to access otherwise. For me, when I was growing up, I was very fortunate to have a dance studio attached to my house; it explains a lot about who I have become. But not everyone has access to a great arts education, or other programs and classes when they are experiencing their formative years. And G.A.C.C. is trying to change that.
They hit me up to judge a talent show, and the Center has pledged to send the winner of the contest to audition for America's Got Talent, and pay any fees they may incur getting there and back. I thought that was rad. Then I thought, hey, instead of flying in and out to do the event, why not do a Cross Country MOTORCYCLE RIDE, and use that crazy stunt to raise some additional money for the Center to fund its ongoing efforts?? I asked if they thought that was cool, and they said yes. OH, and I figured I would live stream the whole ride online so you can watch me fight the elements the whole way there.
So, here we are. This is where you come in. I want YOU to give a buck. That's it. If you wanna give more, great, but lets start with ONE DOLLAR. Why? Because by giving a buck, you have "sponsored" one mile of my ride. Its LONGGGGGGGGGG. 1,975 miles in fact. So, if 1,975 people give a dollar, thats $1975.00 that I can hand over to G.A.C.C. when I arrive.
HELP ME make this happen, and do some good in an ultra-focused way that benefits kids in my hometown of Clinton, IA. You know where the cash is gonna go, what its gonna do, and come on, you can find a DOLLAR in your couch and do some real good. So don't hesitate, just donate.
If we are doing well, then maybe you can donate enough to match my mileage the whole way back to L.A. ;-) Lets give it a shot.
Follow me on all social media accounts with the handle: @zachvilla for updates, and links to watch the ride live after you donate!
Im going to keep the shiny side up, and enjoy the wind on my face. Its probably gonna be a bit cold. So keep your dollars coming and warm up my heart.
Yours,
Zach Villa
