Anne Carson Bryan

Anyone who attended Canandaigua Academy in the 70’s probably knew at least one of the Carson kids ----Jean, Jeff, Anne, Susan and John.

Although Anne was the middle child, she was often a caretaker in her family. A tragic car accident  took the life of brother Jeff, her Mom Eileen passed away, her sister Jean passed away from scleroderma and cancer , and her nephew Brian Moore passing away recently following his battle with cancer.

Through all of this, Anne graciously became the mother figure for not only her own son, but also for many nieces and nephews.  Ann has always been the one “in control”, clearly stating that she’ll take care of it, she’ll do it….and you knew itwould all be taken care of!

In more recent years, Anne began to experience her own troubles (although she may not describe it as such…) a neck problem which eventually took her out of her long time  job at Wegmans, and landing her on disability.  After mobility issues, she had surgery which almost left her paralyzed. But she again rallied and was back on her feet and cheerful very quickly!

Then in 2016 Anne received the dreaded diagnosis….CANCER.   In April 2016, Anne shared that she had breast cancer.  Treatments began with chemo, lump removal and radiation… 2016 was a difficult, trying and exhausting year, with many ups and downs medically. Yet Anne had a great deal to celebrate when her last radiation treatment occurred on 12/29/2016!

With the painful experience of cancer, came the extreme costs of all the treatment and services she received throughout the year.  Medications now are very costly per month just to keep the cancer at bay.  Anne has always been there for others; caring for her close family members, helping out a friend in need, organizing ANYTHING which you may need organized, making jewelry and note cards for fundraisers, anything which needed to be done!  Anne will never ask anyone for a helping hand, but we are asking for her now….she has always been there for others and now she needs a little assistance to continue to address her mounting medical bills.

On Anne’s Caring bridge site, she’s given a clear message as to her state of mind:

When something bad happens you have three choices. You can either let it define you. Let it destroy you. Or let it strengthen you.

Anne is stronger than ever as we enter 2017!!!  Let’s help her stay strong and worry free this year- please contribute if you can, even a small amount.  Let’s show Anne how much we care and truly feel about her!
