It’s officially been three years since my last surgery. On January 23rd, 2023, I underwent a procedure called a belt lipectomy. The process was intense... they removed two perfect circles of skin around my torso, shifted my navel, and pulled the skin tight. My doctor initially estimated I’d lose about five pounds, but by the end, 15.5 pounds of skin were removed, with no additional contouring or liposuction. The recovery was grueling, filled with sleepless nights, tears, and a lot of medication. Despite the challenges, I would do it all over again because the results were beyond what I expected.
That’s why I’m here now, preparing for round two. After talking with my doctor, I know this next surgery will focus on my upper torso—breast, arms, sides, and possibly my back. I’m facing another 30-45 days of recovery before I can return to light work, and it may take up to six months for a full recovery. March 3rd, 2026, will mark seven years since I began my journey to better myself, to discover who I’m meant to be, and to keep making a difference for others. I started at 560 lbs, entered my last surgery at 262 lbs, and now I’m at 237 lbs. I’m still chasing progress and learning what healthy and happy truly mean.
I’ve made every responsible decision I could, holding tightly to my convictions and willpower. But this next hurdle is one I can’t overcome alone. No amount of determination will make this surgery possible without help. I’m not too proud to admit that I need support. Your kindness will help cover the cost of surgery, medication, recovery expenses, and support me during the time I can’t work. Thank you for helping me continue this journey toward health and happiness.
