On Friday, my sister's dog, Bubbles, broke her leg on a walk. Bubbles was playing in the snow while they were walking in their neighborhood and somehow managed to get caught on something or step wrong, resulting in a full break in her leg (x-ray photos attached). My sister had to drive a few hours away from her town (Jamestown) to find a vet who could do the surgery due to a lack of anesthesia resources in her area. The vet doing the surgery (in Ithaca) then decided to keep Bubbles until Monday morning when they will put a plate in her leg.

I've created this fund for my sister, Lisa, to cover vet bills. Funds will be used to cover the multi-hour car trips back and forth across NY, the radiology, medications, surgery, overnight stays, and recovery. The estimate for the surgery is ~$6,500. More about Bubbles: Bubbles' name suits her - she is a bubbly ray of sunshine! She's a 2-year-old border collie mix who loves snuggling and playing with her kittens. She was adopted as a puppy and has been raised by my sister's family since. Bubbles is beloved by everyone who meets her, including the vets who are treating her in Ithaca. See photos attached!
