Bubba's Journey to Speak: Support Needed

Hello, my name is Ashlee Wilson and I have a 3-year-old non-verbal autistic son. His name is Michael, AKA Bubba. Bubba started his first year of preschool this year and has been blessed with amazing teachers, staff, and therapists. They pushed for him to get a communication device early, and since then, he's improved with communication skills but still has a long way to go. Unfortunately, insurance has denied him twice due to "not being medically necessary." The insurance person's notes stated, "Your child is 3 years old. Your child has problems speaking."

Long story short, I'm seeking help affording him his own personal device. That way, out of the classroom and over summer break, we can continue working towards his needs and goals. As his mom, it is so hard to see him get so frustrated while we are trying to figure out what he's wanting or needing. It breaks your heart. He's such a sweet and spunky boy with a lot of love; to see him struggle with communication is hard. The app alone is $300, and that's not including the iPad to download it or the protective gear for the iPad. If you cannot donate, please take time to share; school ends towards the end of May!!
