Bubba Blue’s Retirement Surgery

Hey all,

Bubba is an SF OG who many of us have come to know quite well over the years. He is the closest thing I know to a community dog. Recently, old buddy has fallen on some tough times; living outdoors for eight years has been hard on him.

I took Bubba home with me in October in the hopes of providing him with a top notch retirement and hospice experience.

I took Bubs to the vet recently and he was diagnosed with skin cancer, likely as a result of prolonged UV exposure from living outside.

While Bubba is still full of beans, eating well, partying with Star, and generally loving life, the tumors on his belly and inguinal region are growing. They will soon compromise his quality of life in a big way. He also has a big one on his head that bothers him a lot.

The very kind folks at SF Pet Hospital (shoutout to Dr Villard and Nate!) have offered to perform a surgery that would remove these tumors at a significantly lowered cost. This surgery would not cure Bubba of his cancer, but it would give him more time and a better quality of time while he’s still here.

I weighed on this a lot and I think with the easy recovery coupled with the high increase of comfort, this is a path worth taking.

Any bit helps! I didn’t expect to take Bubba on, but I’m really happy he’s here and he can stay as long as he’d like.
