Hello friends. This is a little hard (embarrassing) to write but I need some help. As many of you know, I was diagnosed a few years ago with pulmonary hypertension. Last month it was diagnosed further as CTEPH or chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. Most forms of pulmonary hypertension have no cure and progresses on to heart failure and death. It is a blessing that my form is the only one with a potential cure. I have been scheduled for a pulmonary endarectomy in San Diego California. It is a very rare, but deadly disease and the surgery is just as rare. They only do this surgery at a handful of hospitals in the world. The surgery was pioneered in San Diego. I’m scheduled for surgery on March 13 and have to be there a week before. I will be in the hospital about 2 weeks and then must wait another week before being well enough to travel home.
Though the surgery is covered by insurance, I need help to cover airfare, lodging and meals, etc. if you could find it in your heart to help me, I would so greatly appreciate it.
I’ve enclosed some information about the disease and the surgery to help you understand what I am facing. But I am greatly blessed because I have an opportunity for a full recovery. Thank you for listening.
