BU Trumpet Ensemble to NTC 2018!

The Boston University trumpet studio is led by the internationally renowned trumpeter and teacher, Terry Everson. It consists of 11 undergraduate and graduate students each pursing a carrer in music. In addition to receiving trumpet lessons from Terry, we meet once a week for a studio class, where we have a chance to perform for each other and learn from each other's experiences. We also form trumpet chamber groups that rehearse regularly during the semester. This year, we are sending a six piece ensemble and one soloist to the semi-finals at the National Trumpet Competition, which is taking place at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas in March. The ensemble is playing El Salon Mexico by Aaron Copland arranged for the group by Terry.
The National Trumpet Competition is an organization that has been providing an educational outlet for the past 25 years to young trumpet players from around the United States. With a yearly competition, masterclasses, and amazing concerts, NTC strives to provide the highest quality atmosphere to showcase these up and coming artists and provide access to some of the world's premiere trumpet artists and faculty from around the world.
In order to afford flights and accomodations for the competition, we have to do some fundraising. We do this through this online campaign, as well as through bake sales at the College of Fine Arts and other fundraising events. The School of Music usually offers some help too, but we cannot rely solely on their funds in order for all of us to go at a reasonable cost. Donations of any amount will be greatly appreciated.
