My Sister’s Family House Fire

Donation protected

On Wednesday, July 1st, my sister, Jessica and her husband, Mark, returned home in the evening to the horror of their house ablaze in a 2-alarm fire. By God’s amazing grace, my niece, Caitlin, her toddler daughter, Braelynn, and my nephew, Dylan, escaped the flames that engulfed half of their beautiful home.  Austin, Mark’s son was not home at the time. As they rescued their pets (two cats are still missing) the fear that my niece and nephew experienced (and later expressed)—its a lot to bear for anyone. The true magnitude of this disaster has barely begun to sink in.

The fire, smoke, and water damage extends from the living room, into the kitchen and the basement, as well as upstairs in Austin’s room, the hallway, and into Caitlin and Braelynn’s room. I have added some photos of the damage, as it is frankly, very shocking.

We are so blessed that the volunteer fire department worked diligently to extinguish the fire swiftly; however, the significant emotional and financial toll of this accident will linger for many years to come.

As they have lost so much, we welcome any donations. For those of you lead to donate, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. For those of you who cannot at this time, we welcome your prayers for Jessica, Mark, Austin, Dylan, Caitlin, and Braelynn, as they rebuild their home and heal from this loss.

Blessings,
Jen Reilly
