Liberty or Libby as she answers to is a very special Golden girl who started her live in Egypt similar to her brother Polo! Libby is a 7 month old young lady who has not had the use of her back legs since the first weeks in life. We are not sure if it was abuse, birth defect, or injury but none the less GRREAT Golden Retriever Rescue (www.grreat.org) agreed to accept her into our rescue here in the states so she would have a better outlook in life!
Libby's back two legs have full paralysis and are fused rigid which prevents her from moving freely as well as causing back issues as her legs cause her to "twist" at the mid torso area.
GRREAT purchased a wheel chair for Libby but due to her keg fusion and rig indies she has not been able to use them.
All this poor little girl wants is to be a puppy and act like a dog...
The Specialist vets at the Veterinary Center of Delaware and their Rehab therapist feel the best way to provide her with normalcy and quality of life will be to amputate her back legs along its her tail (for sanitation purposes). 
This will be costly and although GRREAT has approved the procedure it will put a strain on funds that other pups might need to assist them.
