"I Am a Mother from Gaza... Writing to You from Under the Rubble"

My name is Noor, and I’m a mother of four beautiful children: Batool, Aseel, Bahaa, and Leen. We once lived a modest life filled with challenges, but also with love and hope. Then the war came… and changed everything.

Since the war in Gaza began, we’ve been living a nightmare. Our home was completely destroyed in an airstrike, and we are now homeless. My husband, Ahmad, lost his job — and then he disappeared. We have no idea where he is, and my heart fears he may have been martyred. Still, we pray he is alive.

I suffer from a chronic illness and need ongoing medical treatment, but I can no longer afford even basic checkups or medications. My children are hungry, cold, and scared. All I want now is to find safety for them — food to fill their stomachs, and shelter to protect them from bombs, fear, and displacement.

I’ve been waiting for months for the border to open, hoping to flee with my children to a safer place. Just a chance to survive. Their childhood is being stolen in front of my eyes, and all I can do is tell our story and hope someone hears us.
