Help Irvington Vinyl & Books Bounce Back

Many of y'all generous people asked, so here it is: we've started a Gofundme for our beloved shop Irvington Vinyl and Books after being robbed today. Our intention is to help bump up our security as much as we can and, honestly, to give ourselves a small break Sunday-Wednesday next week to complete the work we intended to do today (finish building out our VHS room!!), as well as just getting some rest. We want to be really vulnerable with y'all right now: this has been a rough year for us here at IV&B. We've definitely had some ups, but we've had some very, very challenging downs that have left our small staff (just the two of us!) feeling quite emotionally exhausted. After all that we've been dealing with in the last 6 months, the robbery today felt a lot like a slap in the face from the universe, and sometimes you have to feel through those emotions before you pick yourself up again. So we are allowing ourselves to be humbled and giving our community who wants to help support us an opportunity to do so. Asking for help is its own challenge, and we've already received some amazing kindness from our landlords Deb and Jamie, as well as our wonderful neighbors Great Day Tattoo. To anyone who even considers donating, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Irvington Vinyl & Books is so incredibly special to us, and it is encouraging and heartening to see other people appreciate its magic as well. Any additional support we receive over the goal will go directly back into the shop to gear up for Irvington Pride on 6/29 and to fill out the shop with all the fun and strange stuff y'all love so much! We promise we'll be back on our feet in no time!
