Help A Soldier Scammed by Fayetteville Contractor

Never in a hundred years would I think I would need a platform like this, but I do.

I have been stationed in Virginia for the last 3.5 years. While I have been living here, I was renting out my house in Parkton, NC.  When my tenants (also a Soldier) received PCS orders, I decided it was time to sell my house. I reached out to an associate I knew from my Bragg days who swore she was the best realtor ever and would have my home sold in weeks. I met her in the foyer of my house on Jul 6, to discover that the tenants destroyed my home. As I walked through my house in tears, the Agent swore to me she had the best contractor who would fix my home up to look brand new! I kind of felt better, but was disgusted at how anyone could be so cruel as to damage another person's property and walk away..

I signed on with Paramount Home Improvement in Fayetteville on Jul 22 after receiving a detailed invoice and promise that it would be done in 3 weeks.  They quoted me $20,500 and I paid the first installment that day. There were never any follow up emails or calls, but my Agent swore they were on track and promised to stop in and check on progress. I would receive a picture or two after that. On 5 Aug, I received the second invoice that would pay for the next phase of work, which would take care of the walls and paint. At this point my anxiety was on a million because we were coming close to the 3 week completion date. However, my Agent assured me all was well and even put the house as coming soon in MLS. And then everything fell apart..

On Sep 8, I received a call from my Agent explaining to me that we had to terminate our agreement because the house wasn't ready and she would be fined for every day that it was "coming soon" on MLS. Again I asked what was wrong, and how much longer and again I was told "a couple small things" and was sent a picture of an electrical cover sitting on the counter. She again told me "I'll call you back", and again never called back.  I mentally gave her a week, and I busted my butt to find an honest agent.

On the 23rd of Sep. I had my new agent get a real visual of what was actual needing to be done.  As I looked down at my phone at the pictures she was sending 1 by 1, I couldn't help but cry.. The house was not even close to being done. The microwave was nowhere to be found, the paint job was unfinished, as well as the flooring that I paid to have repaired with the first payment. The garage door was not fixed, the towel racks and mirrors were on the floors, all of the toilets were trashed, and it was all paid for already. My current realtor is a breath of fresh air, with an honest contractor but he doesn't work for free. And that is why I am here...

I took out my TSP, and scrapped up every free cent that we have. I don't have anything left to give to get this home on the market. I don't want to foreclose on it, I worked very hard to get my credit score where it is. Yes, I have reached out to the contractor and after he swore to right his wrongs, is no longer answering my calls or texts. I can't afford to live in Virginia AND pay the mortgage on this house anymore. I have been doing it since July and it has drained both my wife and I's pockets. I have consulted a lawyer, but the reality is, even if I did win my case, there is nothing that forces a company to pay. They will just change their name and rip someone else off.

I am humbly asking if you could find it in your heart to donate to help me finish this house in the next 3 weeks so I may get it sold and move on with my life. Every cent will go towards the remaining repairs and the things that keep coming out of the dark (non-functioning stove). Thank you for reading this and I pray that no one ever has to go through this. It's so disheartening when people who claim to be "all about our Military" actually prey on the Military.
