Jose's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
My son Jose was involved in a tragic accident on 3/29/21. A car struck the vehicle he was in and claimed the life of that driver as well as the mother of his child, and has left Jose in the hospital.
He is currently at Loyola in critical but stable condition and is suffering from multiple injuries. The doctors have told us that part of his pelvis was shattered, he has punctured lung, his jaw is broken in three places, multiple other bones in his face as well as his nose. Due to the major trauma and the blood loss his body has endured, Jose is currently in a medically induced coma. It has been explained to me that once his vital organs have remained stable for a desired amount of time, he will begin the road to recovery.
This long road will include multiple surgeries on his body as well as reconstructive surgery on his face. We have faith that his surgeries will go well so he can then get the physical therapy he will eventually need. It is going to be a long road to recover from such a tragic accident, but we are just beyond grateful he has been given this fighting chance.
During this time, we have come together as a family to help in any way that we can. Any additional help we get is greatly appreciated and no amount is too small, as we know that this is only the beginning of what will be hard and trying times for Jose and his daughter. We know these are hard times for everyone and donating might not be possible, we just ask that you keep him in your thoughts and share this.
A special thank you to everyone who has reached out and has been praying for my son. It is with prayer, positive vibes and support from loved ones that we will see this through.
