Jennifer Hartung's Heart Surgery

Story

Jennifer and I have been friends since I was 2 years of age. The odd thing is that I had two open heart surgeries as a child, so now I want to help Jennifer as she faces her own open heart surgery. Jennifer has always eaten healthy, been a runner, and has two children. She didn't know she had a congenital heart defect until 2012 when they found she had a bicuspid aortic valve issue and an  ascending aortic aneurysm and atrial fibulation.  She has incurred many medical bills and missed work due to heart related issues. She tried medical management of this condition until this year, when the doctors decided (due to the aneurysm growth and electrical issues with her heart) that she needed immediate open heart surgery, which she will be having the morning of January 12th. (Please pray for her)In addition to the medical bills, Jennifer will hopefully be able to return to work in 3 months and will need her husband to help care for her. This "Go Fund Me" will help Jennifer pay both her medical bills and living expenses while she is unable to work and provide for her family during her recovery period. Being an only child, Jennifer is the closest thing I've ever had to a sister, and I want to help her in any way I can. As a congenital heart patient myself, I know how extensive and expensive heart related issues can be. It is a  scary and trying time. From working at the Brevard Achievement Center as a teen, working with the rape crisis hotline and the domestic violence shelter, and providing Christian counseling, Jennifer has spent her life helping other people; therefore, she is not one to step out and ask for help on her own. That is where I come in! :) I would be so grateful if we could provide Jennifer with one less worry at this time, as she faces this exceptionally trying time for her and her family.
