Studying abroad offers a unique opportunity to expand both my academic and cultural horizons, particularly in understanding international approaches to mental health. Through this program, I aim to explore cultural perspectives on psychological behavior, preparing me for a career in forensic psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. In my short time at John Jay, the school has opened numerous doors for me socially and academically, and now it offers the chance to further develop my ideas and academic strengths on a global scale.

Beyond the academic takeaways, the opportunity to engage in a new culture and explore the many cities Europe has to offer would life-changing. Living abroad, even for a short time, offers unique perspectives and opportunities for personal growth. The challenges of the past few years—both personal and global—have deepened my gratitude for the people and opportunities in my life while igniting a desire to embrace relationships and insights beyond the boundaries of career and education. I hope to return from this journey with a broader, more worldly perspective, enriched by meaningful experiences—and perhaps even a little sun-kissed.
