Hi, my name is Kaitlyn, and from September I will be studying Acting at university — something I’m incredibly proud of and grateful for. As a Deaf student, British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters play a vital role in my education. They help ensure I can fully understand lectures, participate in discussions, and access the same learning opportunities as my peers.
While Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) covers some support, it doesn’t meet the full cost of the interpreting hours I need. That gap affects my ability to engage fully with my course, especially during seminars, group work, and extra academic opportunities.
I’m asking for help to cover the additional support hours that aren’t funded. Every contribution will go directly toward paying qualified BSL interpreters who support my learning and help level the playing field. This isn’t about asking for special treatment — it’s about having equal access.
If you’re able to donate, I can’t thank you enough. If not, simply sharing this page would mean a great deal and could help reach someone who can.
Thank you for reading and for supporting me.
Kaitlyn x
