Help Dustin Smith Fight Cancer
Our dear friend Dustin Smith has been diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer, and is currently undergoing treatment in Yokohama, Japan — far from his extended support system. Dustin is one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. A proud Marian University alumnus, former music educator, and current international sales expert at Gator Cases, Dustin has spent his life helping others — inspiring students through music, bridging global business relationships, and always showing up with warmth and humility. He’s a devoted husband and a caring father, and now he needs our help.
Why We're Asking for $40,000
Cancer is tough and Dustin is facing a long and difficult battle. And even in a country with strong healthcare, the financial burden of long-term treatment, lost income, and family care is very real — especially when it comes unexpectedly.
Dustin’s treatment will last many months, during which he will need help to ensure his family can take on this new challenge. His wife is focused full-time on supporting him and caring for their child. Our goal is to raise $40,000 to ease their financial burden so they can focus on healing, not surviving.
Here’s how the funds will be used:
Rent & Utilities: $10,000
Groceries & Household Needs: $4,000
Childcare/School Support: $3,000
Out-of-pocket Medical Costs $18,000
Emergency Buffer & Unexpected Costs $5,000
Total: $40,000
Any extra funds raised will help cover future recovery care, family travel needs, and rebuilding life post-treatment.
How You Can Help
If you’re able, please consider donating today. Every contribution — whether it’s $20 or $2,000 — brings this incredible family one step closer to stability and healing. If you’re unable to give, you can still support by sharing this page with your network.
Let’s surround Dustin with the same compassion and strength he’s shown to so many others. Let’s help him fight cancer — and win.
Thank you for your love, support, and generosity.
With love and hope,
Dustin's friends and family
