MY FAMILY IS IN CRISIS

Hi my name is Crystal Fox. I am a sole parent and I have a very serious disease called Mitochondrial Disease that gives me endless medical issues. I have two sons. One is ten and one is 30. I have three pets and I reside in Newcastle.

In the early hours of yesterday morning, my 30 year old son had a head on crash on the freeway with a truck at Berowra in NSW. He was unresponsive at the scene and had to go straight to resus. He had a bleed to the brain. They have drilled a hole to relieve the pressure on his brain. He has multiple complex fractures on every limb and is currently in an induced coma at The Royal North Shore Hospital on a ventilator. He also needs more surgery but needs to be more stable for that to occur.

I am going to need financial assistance to be able to visit him as I am two hours away.

He is going to need significant support and Rehab. These processes (like Centrelink or NDIS applications) take a significant time to process.

I am only on a Carer's Pension from Centrelink.

I will need to pay for someone to help care for my 10 year old with complex needs. He is diagnosed with ASD2, ADHD, amongst other things.

Not many people can manage him.

Applying for more NDIS funding takes time and I'm honestly not in the headspace to even cope with that at this stage.

I will also need to pay for someone to care for my animals and house.

My son also has debts that need to be paid and he is obviously unable to work now.

I am absolutely shattered right now and I would be truly appreciative for every single dollar you may donate.

It would be nice to have a few months where I don't have to worry about how I can pay for things.

It would also be so good if I could raise enough funds for him to have a big holiday when he is well enough.

Or a new car.

Or just anything to look forward to as it's going to be an incredibly hard few months for him.
