Help Save Me from Homelessness

Mathias here. Some of you may know me as Korlane from twitter. Asking for help is almost impossible for me to do, but I’ve exhausted my resources and have nowhere left to turn but to ask for the kindness of internet friends and strangers.
I’m born and raised in Belgium and currently living with my mother, Christelle, who is ill. She has some kind of infection on her leg and the doctors don’t know what it is or how to cure it. There’s a special salve that helps, but is very expensive so my mother doesn’t always have it available when it’s needed. The infection is so pervasive that it makes it really difficult for her to stand for long periods of time, or even able to walk. At this time, my mother is the only one who is able to work, but is only able to do it part time/half time because of the infection on her leg.
When I was 19, I was hospitalized because my weight had caused me severe back problems. While I am no longer overweight, the medical bills still exist from that time and I’m unable to work certain types of jobs that require me to stand for long periods of time. In the meantime, I’ve been looking for work.
The last few months have been so difficult. There is no family nearby to help us out. We’ve attempted to get government assistance and have been denied. Any money my mother makes is immediately taken away from us by bill collectors. Almost everything I own has been taken to help pay back the debt. We often go days without eating. We’re on the verge of homelessness.
My mother is currently in the hospital, and the looming bills that are inevitable will add to the debts we’re already paying. This GoFundMe may seem like a lot of money, but it will go to help both of us for at least a 3 months.
The breakdown of where the money is going is as follows:
€300/mo for rent so we have somewhere to live
€200/mo for electricity and other utilities.
€150/mo for internet.
€500/mo for food for the both of us.
This comes to €1250/mo to cover some of the basic living expenses.
I’m asking for €4000 total to try to give us a buffer for a few months until I’m able to find work and my mother can get well.
I know this is a lot of money. I know that it’s a lot of money to ask for help from strangers and people who don’t know me. But anything you can offer will help us keep a roof over our heads, keep utilities going so that I can continue to look for work online freelance writing or otherwise, and have more than a single meal every 2-4 days.
