Support for Amy

As many of you know, my mother, Amy Meyer, was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2016. Later that year, she underwent a successful stem cell transplant with support and love from her friends and community. Unfortunately, this fall she'll be undergoing stem cell therapy once again in order to keep her healthy for the next several years. On Tuesday, October 15th she began the first of several rounds of heavy chemo to begin this process. Once again, I'm reaching out for help supporting my family during this process. While my mother has insurance to cover most medical costs, she will still be unable to work for the next few months. She's a single mother raising myself and my two brothers with help from my grandmother, who is retired. She'll need help to pay bills and provide for my brothers during this recovery time. Things will be even more difficult this time around, as the restaurant she works at will be closed until late spring and I'm away at college. Amy is well-known in her community, both as a beloved employee of Ledyard High School and as a fantastic bartender (going on thirty years!) at Noank institution The Seahorse.
