COVID-19 Relief for India

Donation protected
India is one of the largest democracies and economies in the world, and during this pandemic they have supplied a total of 66 million vaccinations to over 95 countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada and the United Nations Health Workers and Peacekeepers. Currently, India is setting global records in the number of positive cases, more than 350,000 per day, with 6% of those cases needing ICU (intensive care unit) level healthcare for people below 64 years. That number jumps to 28% for people who are above the age of 65 years. As a result, medical centers across the country are overwhelmed because of the limited number of available medical supplies and hospital beds. Oxygen supply is running low, the vaccine production rate is not enough for the population size and there is a shortage of ventilators, covid testing kits and personal protective equipment. Healthcare providers are having to make the difficult decision of choosing who will receive life-saving care. Throughout the pandemic, we have seen waves like this play out in countries like the United Kingdom, Italy, and our own United States. However, given the sheer population of a country like India, and the disproportionate availability of healthcare providers, the need for aid and support is dire.

The money we raise from this campaign will be distributed to the following organizations:

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan:
“Dry grains, hygiene kits, food packet, masks and other basic necessities will be provided to covid affected marginalized and nomadic families.”

Association for India’s Development:
“AID has been partnering with grassroots partners across India to distribute personal protective equipment to healthcare workers, police, and communities at risk.”

Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society
“SEEDS aims to strengthen the health care system of India, especially during COVID-19 by providing a helpline for communities, establishing Covid Care Centres, stepping up vaccination drives as well as ensuring oxygen supply and other medical services via virtual platforms.”

HelpNow
"HelpNow is an Initiative by young students providing a safe, 24x7 logistics network for transporting COVID patients/suspects, Drugs, Phlebotomists, Healthcare workers (docs, nurses) and Blood/Organs/Medical supplies in India."

Kalap Trust
"Kalap Trust is helping the District Administration at Mori, Uttarkashi District, Uttarakhand set up an emergency covid-care centre in Tons Valley"

Kolkata Foundation
"Help fight the COVID 2nd wave in Kolkata. Goal: Provide oxygen concentrators, pulse oximeters, vaccines to those in need"

Your contribution towards this cause would signify your solidarity and willingness to align with community members to support their loved ones through an incredibly difficult time. Do not hesitate to share this with friends and family, every little thing you do counts. We plan to start sending the funds out to the organizations around 25th May. Please help us make a positive impact and help out as global citizens!
