In 2017 Lucas was diagnosed with a brain/spinal cancer called Pilocytic Astrocytoma. The diagnosis shook the entire family to their cores, but they all got up and were ready to go to battle with their boy . Lucas has went through several surgeries, tests, and treatments over the years. In November 2021, Lucas went to St Jude for a routine check up. It was then that they discovered a tumor in his spine had grown to the point of needing surgery. The surgeon was able to remove the tumor, but the family has just discovered that he is going to have to undergo further treatment at St Jude at the beginning of the new year. While St Jude does their best to take care of patients and their families, Mikey nor Cayla (Lucas’s parents) will be able to work during this time, and unfortunately life does not stop and bills still need to be paid. The proceeds from this go fund me will go directly to them for any needs they may have while they are away with Lucas. During their stay in Memphis, their younger son Mason will be in the care of other family members, Please help us rally around this family in their time of need.
