Help B Live Fully While Fighting Rare Brain Cancer
When B checked herself into the hospital on Mother’s Day for partial vision loss, she did not expect to hear the devastating news that she had a large tumour in her brain.
Update: Having finally been diagnosed with CNS Neuroblastoma, an aggressive, malignant, extremely rare form of Brain Cancer, B has undergone 2 craniotomies, radiation, and is starting chemotherapy in September.
As B is undergoing treatment, she cannot work right now. Prior to this medical crisis, B worked as:
- TD Emerging Festival Producer at Toronto Fringe Festival
- Independent Arts Assistant at VIBE Arts as part of their Emerging Artist Roster
- Freelance Arts Workshop Lead with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel | York
While she hopes treatment can cure this cancer, the uncertainty makes planning for anything nearly impossible. And yet, in the face of all this, B is doing everything she can to stay grounded in the things that bring her joy, connection, and purpose. But the road ahead is unknown, and time feels both precious and unpredictable.
Unable to qualify for EI, she hopes to use this money to support herself while she’s unable to work, including covering daily expenses and bills. But more than just surviving, B wants to keep creating. She’s an artist at heart, and music, writing, and visual arts are just some of the things that bring her real peace and self-expression during this time. Your support would help her purchase tools to continue creating the art she desires, and allow her to experience life outside the hospital: to travel, be with loved ones, and find moments of joy and freedom along the way.
B is facing something no one should have to, and she’s doing it with courage, strength, and heart. If you can contribute, we are deeply grateful. Every donation—big or small—helps B hold on to some normalcy, joy, and independence as she fights for her life. Determined to get through this even better, we’d appreciate your help in making it happen. We thank you for your support.
