BRYSONS STROKE JOURNEY
Donation protected
Good Evening My Tribe....
Update on Bryson: Today has mostly been a day of monitoring vitals, making sure his sodium levels & C02 levels are where they want them.
He is still vented as they want his tiny body to rest.
His brain continues to swell but this is expected & we were told it would continue to do so for awhile.
He received some soft & calming music therapy this afternoon & also received nasogastric intubation (NG Tube) for feeding, we informed him it was a direct line to endless chocolate milk he squeezed my finger in approval & even nodded his head slightly.
He has opened his eyes for a split second at the sound of familiar voices & can follow simple commands like wiggle Ur toes (right side) squeeze my finger (right hand)
He can move his head just enough to respond to yes or no questions.
He knows he's surrounded by love & I've told him all of the amazing things y'all are doin & sayin
Keep praying for our Bry Guy
We love y'all so BIG
Good morning my tribe
Update: Brysons 3 am CT showed continued swelling which is to be expected for the next 3 to 5 days & possibly for the next 14 days, the positive part of that is... it is swelling in the area where they removed the skull.
He remains sedated, vented & will likely remain that way today for what they call extensive neuro protection.
We do not have yesterday's lab results back yet to see if there's a clotting disorder which led to this tragic event, those test are extensive & often take a bit more time.
All of his vitals are very close to where they want them to be & he has the most amazing care team.
Thank U so much for the continued out pouring of love, support & donations
I love y'all so BIG
Update:
Bryson is out of surgery they took an extra large section of skull because his brain will continue to swell over the next 3 to 5 days.
He was given blood & they are now running an arterial IV so they can run sodium to bring his level up.
He will remain vented until they can further access him tomorrow.
This sweet boy woke up for school Wednesday morning, picked his outfit, chose his breakfast, went to the bathroom, walked to the dining room to eat & in an instant his entire life changed forever so far without any known reason please continue to pray donate, share, & show Bryson how much he is loved.
I appreciate everyone so much & I love y'all so BIG
Update on Bryson:
Echo showed that his heart was not likely the cause of the blood clot so they have moved forward with further testing for clotting disorders, they are 100% determined to find the cause.
He was visited by PT, ST, OT... not the outcome we was hoping for but again he's a warrior & a fighter...
He becomes extremely nauseous & vomits when moved, he has not only left side paralysis he has no ability to hold his head up or sit at all on his own.
Please keep praying
Thank U all again for the love & support
Bry Guy & Family
UPDATE: Update on Bryson:
Unfortunately the Thrombectomy was unsuccessful & the blood clot was unable to be removed & the meds did not dissolve it, he is currently in ICU with complete left side paralysis, he came out of sedation but was extremely agitated. We are looking at at least a week long stay while we make a plan for moving forward. Tomorrow starts testing to find a definitive answer as to where the clot originated but they seem to believe it was from his past open heart surgery. We appreciate the out pouring of love, support & donations. He has a long journey ahead but he is a warrior
At around 7:10 am this morning my nephew Bryson that I have guardianship of suffered a major stroke & was life flighted... we are currently at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis where he's undergoing a Thrombectomy. The explanation of this procedure & possible outcome was to say the least terrifying.
I will need to be here for an undetermined amount of time, I don't like asking for help for myself, I need to stay by his side so anything that can be given to go towards gas, shelter & basic needs would be so much appreciated
