Bryson's bonfire accident
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Justin and I am starting a fundraiser for my friend and his son Bryson. Bryson is an 11-year-old burn victim. On December 18th, 2022 Bryson was fishing outside his home in Wolcott, Colorado. He decided he wanted to get a bonfire going, he made the terrible mistake of starting the fire using gasoline and ended up catching himself on fire after the can caught fire and exploded. He was taken by helicopter from his home directly to Children's Hospital Colorado, with third-degree burns to his face, chest, and legs. He spent one week in the ICU intubated and has had three surgeries so far. The surgeons are optimistic that he will recover well and that the skin grafts they have done will be successful. He is awake and has a great attitude, even referring to himself as "Fireball" as a nickname.
My friend lives in Ohio and had to take a leave from work in order to be in Colorado with his son during this difficult time. He does have insurance but the deductible is 4,000$. The cost of airfare, rental car, and hotel are adding up as well.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Happy Holidays!
