Our dear friend and beloved Coach has been diagnosed with Stage IV terminal colon cancer. Inspired by his courage and commitment, Bryson's family and friends are reaching out to everyone we know and seeking the generosity of strangers to help him with this fight.
Bryson Kuzek is only 44 years old. He is a husband to Jennifer (nee Cassidy), father of three beautiful children - Tanner (9), Jenson (7) and Josie (5) - a son, a brother, an uncle, a baseball and hockey coach, and an amazing friend. He was a competitive athlete, excelling in baseball and hockey, earning him a baseball scholarship to the United States. Bryson has lived most of his life in NW Calgary, Alberta, where he has played a significant role in his community. He is a dedicated father, who is very active in coaching his kids in North West Little League and Crowfoot Hockey. His dedication and motivation was proven yet again, as he continued to work full time in spite of his rigorous chemotherapy, until he was laid off on November 25th.
Bryson began his journey, his fight for his life, in April 2019 with surgery. The surgeon was unable to remove the entire tumour and a post surgery scan showed the cancer had spread. Saddened by this news, yet always optimistic, Bryson started chemotherapy in June. Sadly, in October, he was informed the chemotherapy was not working. In December, his doctor referred him for a clinical trial in the United States. Stay tuned for further updates on whether or not he has been accepted and whether alternative international treatments are accessible.
Clinical trials and/or alternative cancer treatments have shown positive results, but come with a significant cost. Please help us raise money to ease the financial burden this disease is putting on his family. Together we can make a difference for Bryson and allow him to continue his wonderful life. Any help would graciously be accepted.
Please pray that Bryson will be accepted as a patient in a clinical trial allowing him more time with his family.
