Bryn's Cancer journey

Donation protected
Hello, I am reaching out on behalf of Bryn and Donna. It is with a heavy heart that I share our good friend Donna’s husband, Bryn, story and ask for your help during the hardest chapter of their lives.
In 2010, Bryn was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a terrifying blow that turned their world upside down. He went through countless rounds of chemotherapy, and though we thought he had beaten it, the cancer came back. In 2012, Bryn had a stem cell transplant from a selfless, unrelated donor, and for a while, it seemed like life was back on track. Things were looking good.
Bryn and Donna embraced life with new energy, joining a 4WD club, going on adventures, and meeting incredible friends along the way. South Australia became their playground, and after everything Bryn had been through, it felt like a new beginning for them.
But in May 2022, their fears resurfaced when Bryn discovered a small lump behind his ear. What started as a seemingly harmless growth turned into yet another battle with cancer. By January 2023, Bryn had already endured three surgeries and difficult radiation treatments to try and stop the spread. Donna and her family fought alongside him, but in June 2023, the oncologist gave them devastating news—cancer had spread to Bryn’s brain.
Brain surgery and radiation followed, and then immunotherapy. Through all the pain, Bryn held on to hope. In January 2024, he was even able to return to work, but by May, the pain became unbearable. He had to stop working. Cancer was robbing him not just of his health, but of the life he had worked so hard to reclaim.
In June 2024, just before his 50th birthday, Bryn had a seizure that led to more heartache—more lesions had appeared in his brain. Radiation became a part of our lives again. In July, Bryn faced another terrifying emergency when a perforated bowel landed him in the hospital for 12 days. His body is weakening, and his mobility is fading. He now relies on a wheelchair, his left leg no longer functions well, and getting out of the house is almost impossible.
This isn’t the life they imagined. Their days are filled with doctor’s appointments, pain, and heartache. The hardest part is knowing there’s no more treatment available for Bryn. Their family are cherishing the time they have left, but the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming.
Donna and Bryn never imagined being in this position, but they need your help. The financial burden of Bryn’s care, medical bills, rent and daily living expenses has become more than they can manage on their own. Bryn can no longer work, and Donna is his full-time caregiver.
We are humbly asking for your support for them during this difficult time. Any amount you can give will go towards:
• Medical bills and treatments Bryn has already endured
• Care and equipment to help with his mobility and comfort
• Day-to-day living expenses as we navigate this heartbreaking journey together
Your generosity would give Donna and Bryn peace of mind, allowing them to focus on making Bryn as comfortable as possible during these final stages without the added stress of mounting expenses. If you cannot donate, simply sharing their story with others would mean the world to them.
Thank you for reading Bryn’s story and for the kindness, love, and support you have shown them. It’s been a long and painful journey, but I know they are so grateful for the community of people lifting them when they need it most.
With love and gratitude,
Donna and Bryn’s work family.
