In 2010 Brynne, her dog Kali, and myself drove from California to Houston, Texas. Brynne graduated from her master's program and started her career. In 2013 she purchased her first home! Woohoo!! Brynne has always opened her doors to host game nights, holiday dinners, pajama parties and the like.Unfortunately, this year has thrown her a curve ball. Recently,  Brynne lost her job. With the loss of income comes an increase in stress, but she has been able to maintain...until recently.

This week Houston was hit with one of the worst storms it has seen in a long while. Torrential downpour, thunder and lightning, flash floods, and a tornado.

When it rains it pours!!
There are reports that storms will continue and additional flooding is a strong possibility!

Brynne's home was hit pretty hard, as the bayou across the street from her home overflowed into her community. Her home and car were under several feet of water, and her car has been totalled.

She spent the night stranded in a flooded car before she was able to return home the next morning, leaving her unable to preserve most of her valuable, sentimental, and irreplaceable possessions.

She is blessed to be safe, while there were others not as fortunate. Despite her losses she maintains optimism and will tell you that she knows she is "one of God's favorites. It could have been worse. Things can be replaced." Brynne is now faced with the daunting task of putting the pieces of her home back together. This is where you come in!!

As a single woman without a steady income, it is my hope that her friends and family can come together to give Brynne the support she needs during these trying times. Being far from home, her loved ones in California and other parts of the nation are limited in the support that we can provide.

Brynne graciously opens up her home and heart on countless occasions, and now we can return the favor! Brynne and Kali have been residing with friends and have been displaced since the storm began on Monday, May 25th.  She is unsure when she will be able to return as restorations have yet to begin.  Let's give Brynne and Kali hope that things can and will return back to normal soon!!
 
Any contribution will be a blessing!!  All funds will go towards restoring her property and assisting her with getting back to a state of normalcy.
