Brynna’s Veterinary Surgery
Donation protected
Brynna is only just recovering from a previous surgery to remove several benign tumors this past December. The only lingering issue from her previous surgery was her stomach had been acting up a bit, and like all dogs she sought out grass to ease her upset belly.
During the night on Thursday her stomach must have been bothering her. While I was asleep she got up and went looking for grass in the house. When she couldn’t find any, she began to chew on the next closest thing, a carpet.
As she chewed, the fiber from the carpet unraveled into one long string. I awoke to the sound of her getting sick, and immediately realized the issue. There was some string in the vomit and I wasn’t sure if any remained in her stomach. Keeping a close eye on her the next 24 hours, my fears were realized.
Unable to keep down food or water, I brought her to the 24 hour veterinarian. Almost $500 in xrays later, I was informed that the string had tangled in her stomach, and completely bunched up and pulled her intestines together, binding her bowels.
The 24 hour surgeon I brought her to this morning didn’t have a surgeon available, so I had to drive my now sedated pup to a second veterinary surgeon. There I was handed a bill for $8900 if I wanted to save her life.
Brynna is currently back in emergency surgery as we speak. This surgery, and her previous surgery, have utterly depleted my savings and my credit, and I am starting this go fund me at the behest of my friends and family to help out my lil girl.
Thank you.
