Bryella is having open heart surgery

Hi my name is Kelly, and Bryella is my first born grandchild, and the light of our lives. A couple days after being born, we learned she had 3 holes in her heart. They have tried meds, and it seemed they were working for a time, so much so, they took her off. Well fast forward a couple of months and things started to go bad. She started developing some respiratory infections back to back. The heart doctor took a look and saw things were worse than before. Bryella was started back on heart meds and sent to a lung doctor at VCU, to see how her lungs were being effected by the holes. The lung specialist saw pulmanary edema, which was from the blood coming through the holes, into the lungs. He stated Bryella was only stable because of the meds, but was medication dependent, and needed surgery to stop the blood from coming in. Hailey, Bryella's mommy, immediately called the heart doc and we were brought right in. Hailey had to face one of the hardest decisions a parent never wants to have thrown at them, agree that open heart surgery is needed to give Bryella a chance at a healthy life. The surgery is being done at John's Hopkins Hospital on April 14th, after we get through all of the pre op appts. I'm asking for help for Hailey and Bryella to get through these next months. Bryella will be in the hospital and then have a lengthy, strict recovery for 2 months at home. Hailey will not be able to work, so I'm asking for help for medical expenses, gas to and from appts, food and possible hotel stays and to help cover any other costs. Anyone whom has met Bryella, sees how special she truly is. You could have the worst day ever, and as soon as you come through that door, she runs and hugs your leg, smiles up at you and says "you home". Your anger, sadness or whatever is troubling you, melts away.
