My name is Heather Poston. I am setting up this GoFundMe on behalf of my nephew, Bryce Pack. So many people have reached out wanting to help in some way; therefore, this fund is being set up.
Bryce is an 18-year-old senior in high school. He is a member of his youth group at church and is a devout Christian. He is the kindest, sweetest, most caring, giving, humble, and respectful young man you will ever meet. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, shooting sport clays, and riding 4-wheelers. He should be enjoying his final year in high school doing all the fun and memorable things that seniors do, such as class trips, sporting events, hanging out with friends, and committing to a college. The last year has been very difficult for him. There are days that he has very bad headaches and cannot function in day-to-day activities.
At the end of 2023, he began having debilitating headaches along with spinal fluid leaking from his nose. After many doctor and ER visits, he was diagnosed with a spinal fluid leak around the base of his brain in March 2024. He has undergone two surgeries at MUSC to try and repair the leaks without success. He went to Duke Hospital to also try and receive help. The doctors there recommended that his mom send his records to Boston Children's Hospital to review and see if they could help him. Thankfully, the neurosurgeon and ENT's took Bryce on as a patient. He and his family went to Boston in January of this year for a consultation and further testing. The doctors believe they can give Bryce the life-changing surgery that he so desperately needs. He is scheduled for a major surgery in March to repair the leak(s) at the base of his brain. He will have to stay in the hospital for at least a week and be close to the hospital for 6-8 weeks for monitoring. This journey is going to be challenging for him and his family emotionally and financially. His family will have no income coming in for the next couple of months due to having to stay in Boston. There will be medical, travel, and living expenses that need to be covered. I would like to ask everyone to pray for this young man and his family during this journey. If you would like to make a gift to Bryce and his family to help with financial burdens, it would be greatly appreciated. If you can only say a prayer, we know that prayer is powerful and that God hears them all. Again, thank you so much!
