Bryce & Ryan Capture ByGrace's Vision in Kenya

Big News: We are thrilled to share that we have a God-given opportunity for Bryce & Ryan to partner with ByGrace Trust, a non-profit dedicated to providing orphaned children a bright future through care and education in Kenya, Africa!
Our Goal: We will be traveling to Nairobi, Kenya for two weeks this June to use our combined creative skills to capture what Stephen & Rosemary Mbogos and their family have built over 25 years and what is now ByGrace Trust. What started as them bringing orphans in as part of their family has now developed into a church, orphanage, and school, expanding over five locations. This expansion has brought about new challenges such as funding, development, awareness, and timely resources. We get to document their story through testimonials, outreach efforts, and the continued efforts of ByGrace Trust. We will also provide creative solutions to distribute their stories across all media platforms to bring awareness to how vital they are to their community and invite others around the world to support their vision.
One of the most exciting parts of this mission is our plan to teach students the powerful art of filmmaking. By equipping them with the tools to create compelling videos and photos, we’ll empower them long term (not just from this trip) to voice their testimonies, share their cultural background, and capture how God has moved throughout their community.
Challenges: Most mission trips are backed, planned, and funded by churches, however, we are a two-person creative film team not only on mission, but continuing to partner with ByGrace Trust even after this trip. This is something we are passionate about, so we are willing to do the heavy lifting of preparing for, educating ourselves, coordinating, and allocating funds for all the things below:
What these funds will fuel:
- Travel Resources: Travel logistics, Gear transport, Insurance, Medical expenses
- Pre-production: Location scouting, Research, Cultural conception, Defining the vision, Shot list, Gear selection, Story boarding, Art direction.
- Creative Equipment: Cinema cameras, Cinema lenses, Professional audio, Studio lighting, Drone, Batteries, Media storage.
- Outreach: Boots on the ground, Building dorm foundations, Developing community, Family experiences, evangelizing to schools, churches, and communities.
- Production (Filming Stage): Photography, Directing the story, Cinematography of testimonies, Setting lighting and shooting in various locations, Creating a narrative on location based on limited resources, Live audio capturing, Interviewing, Directing, Daily reviews and revisions.
- Teaching Film, Marketing, and Social Media: Curriculum design, Hands-on workshops, Gear rentals for students, Mentorship programs, Social media integration, Student development, Marketing.
- Post-production Expenses: Editing, Finalizing content, Distribution, Pushes out social content, Publishing testimonies, and all other videos, Color grading, Storage.
