Meet Bryan – a Marine Corps veteran, a survivor, and a fighter. He has overcome incredible hardships, including childhood sexual abuse, years of battling addiction, and the mental and physical scars that came with both. Now, he’s on a path to healing, recovery, and rebuilding his life—but there’s one thing standing in his way: his smile.

Years of struggle have left him with severe dental issues, making it difficult to eat, speak, and feel confident in his daily life. He dreams of smiling again, of fully embracing this second chance at life without shame or pain. Unfortunately, the cost of dental implants and necessary procedures is beyond his reach.

Why This Matters

Bryan has dedicated his life to fighting battles, both for his country and within himself. He has worked tirelessly in his recovery, proving every day that he is stronger than his past. Now, he needs a little help to take the next step.

Efforts So Far

We have diligently explored multiple avenues to secure the necessary dental care:

• Independent Dental Insurance: We researched various private dental insurance plans, but the coverage offered was either insufficient for his extensive needs or came with prohibitive premiums.

• Dental Financing: We considered financing options; however, the high interest rates and stringent credit requirements made this route unfeasible.

• Medicaid Support: We applied for Medicaid assistance, but due to state-specific limitations and the nature of adult dental coverage, comprehensive care was not available.

• VA Benefits: We explored dental benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs. Unfortunately, VA dental care eligibility is limited and primarily based on specific service-connected conditions, leaving him ineligible for comprehensive dental services.

Medical Recommendations & Urgency

His dental health has deteriorated to the point where doctors have recommended a full mouth extraction followed by dental implants. However, due to significant bone loss, it’s uncertain how many implants can be successfully placed. This condition has led to ongoing infections and abscesses, severely limiting his quality of life. If left untreated, these infections can lead to serious complications, including the risk of the infection spreading to other parts of the body, which can be life-threatening.
